Ne-Yo No Longer Def Jam’s Go-To Man?
For years, Ne-Yo has been Def Jam’s favorite in-house writer as well as one of its most successful artists, but it seems Def Jam has a new double threat. New artist, and Ne-Yo label mate The-Dream, seems to be following down the very successful path first blazed by Ne-Yo. In addition to writing for some of Def Jam’s hottest artists, (he wrote Rihanna’s #1 smash hit “Umbrella”) The-Dream will soon release his own album. If you’re worried about Ne-Yo, don’t be. Ne-Yo is currently promoting his second album, as well as writing new music for comeback albums by Whitney Houston and Britney Spears. He’s also working on Nicole Scherzinger’s (Pussycat Dolls) debut album and will be featured on Rihanna’s upcoming single “Hate That I Love You”.
